Coors realizes circular customized interior design projects
Coors realizes circular customized interior design projects
We do this by combining two disciplines: engineering and implementation. But of course also by involving you in the process as much as possible. A project is something you do together – that is our motto. We have been realizing projects in various sectors for many years. We offer a stable combination of experience, expertise and development.
Coors is a proud contributor to interior design projects that are inspiring as well as climate and ergonomically responsible. We work for large and small companies on sustainable interiors, from complete new constructions and renovations to turnkey projects and custom furniture.
Our Mission
The most progressive partner in realizing an innovative, practical, special and climate-responsible customized interior.
Our Vision
Through the initiation of innovations in the field of responsible interior solutions, we strive to pass on our planet to future generations in a healthier and more sustainable way. We are committed, knowledgeable, creative and leading the way.
Our core values of integrity and expertise are always visible in our actions. With a passion for our profession, we are a guide and a total solution provider for our clients in realizing (progressive) interior design ambitions.
Our People and Society
We have a clear social strategy. As an approved training company, we continuously have various trainees in our organization who we prepare for the labor market with sound advice and guidance. Coors looks at the possibilities of each person; not at their limitations. All Coors employees are assessed and deployed according to their performance and capacity.
We employ (disabled) professionals and try to deploy returnees wherever possible. For example, working as drivers for the project leaders and account managers, so that they arrive at their demanding jobs safely and well rested.
Coors is a stable, reliable and loyal employer for all its employees where safety, health, job satisfaction and craftsmanship come first.
Our Planet
Sustainability: a catch-all term for some; daily practice for Coors since many years. We were the first customized interior builders in the Netherlands to be awarded the FSC® certificate on February 22, 2008. We have since been able to add the PEFC certificate. In 2017, we were rewarded for the third time by the Center for Work and Income (UWV, where we are permitted to supply customized interiors) with a UIL award, the UWV’s Most Innovative Supplier, because we achieved impressive results in making the materials used in UWV’s interior design more sustainable.
During the production of our customized interior, we take many possible measures in terms of environmental friendliness. For example, all our company vehicles are environmentally friendly, and for our wholesale transport, we only choose
companies that have caring for people, society and planet high on the priority list.
We also invest actively in order to operate in a climate-neutral manner. One example is the installation of solar panels on the roof of our premises in Ridderkerk. Our company clothing and office supplies come from sustainable suppliers. Finally, we structurally invest a lot of time and money in the development of concepts such as Cradle-2-Cradle and Circularity and have various references in these areas.
History
Coors was founded in 1931 by Jo Coors in the Open Rijstuin in Rotterdam. A second branch was added at the Wijnhaven in 1938. In those early years, Jo Coors was active with painting and advertising work, steel work and making furniture for all kinds of clients, especially in the retail sector.
At the beginning of the Second World War in May 1940, the two Coors branches were totally destroyed. This did not stop Jo Coors from continuing his business: towards the end of the war, he moved into a large building on the Voorhaven. Most of the work was done by hand because machines were not yet allowed to run at that time.
After the war Jo started to focus more and more on making and rebuilding store interiors and carrying out architectural work. In the meantime, his son-in-law, Dick Revelman, joined the ranks.
This went so well that in 1956 he took over Coors Interior Designers from his father-in-law. The company continued to grow, and in 1976, the company moved again, this time from the Voorhaven to the Piekstraat.
In 1991, Dick’s two sons, Han and Chris Revelman, took over their father’s business. They initiated the move to our current, logistically better located premises on the Nikkelstraat in Ridderkerk in 2008.
As of mid-2018, Jeroen Corver has taken on the position of General Manager and has also become, together with Han, a co-shareholder. Meanwhile, Coors has become the most sustainable larger interior designers in the Netherlands, and we intend to stay that way!
